The ICP programme in Computing & IT is a specialised foundation course designed to support international students to progress to studying: Computer Science, Information Science, Data Analytics, Digital Humanities and IT.

Who is the Course for?
- Have completed their local high school qualification (equivalent to Irish Leaving Certificate)
- Have completed high school qualification or equivalent, but do not meet the entry requirements for university admission.
- Need to improve their English language before studying at a European University.
Programme Content
Students studying the ICP Health Science programme will cover four main academic subjects:
- Foundation Mathematics
- Further Mathematics
- English Language Skills
- English for Academic Purposes
- Learning & Study Skills
- Cultural Studies
- IT & Communication Skills
- Chemistry (engineering)
- Physics (engineering)
- Economics (Business)
Students will also gain essential skills, such as:
- Study & Communication skills
- Critical thinking
- Problem solving
- Time management
- Presentation skills
- Academic writing
- Interview skills
In order to facilitate students and meet their needs we have developed three The International Commencement Programme options:
ICP in Health Sciences: This is an alternative route to study Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing or Pharmacy at and progress on to an EU university.
Pre - ICP Studies: This option is for students who have not met the IELTS 5.0 entry requirement for the ICP and need to prepare beforehand in order to do so.
Advanced Entry to University: This is for students who have met the entry requirements for an EU university. Need to assess their university options and be provided with some assistance in the entry application.

- Duration: (one Academic Year) 6 - 12 months
- Location: Cork City Campus
- Exams: The ICP Health Sciences is assessed by continuous assessment, end of year in-house exams and an IELTS exam.
