We offer an International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies, a pre-university qualification developed to help learners to progress successfully to undergraduate study. This pre-university bridging qualification is designed to provide an entry route to Irish, UK and international university courses.

To complete the qualification a student must study and pass units to the total of 120 credits* based on IELTS score and desired career pathway:
(A) 4 core + 2 elective
(B) 3 core + 3 electives
(C) 4 core + 1 electives + 2 electives
(D) 3 core + 2 electives + 2 electives
Core Units for Students with a score of 4.5≤ IELTS (or equivalent) <5.5
(*) These Core Units equate to 80 Units – Students need to choose additional Electives to make up another 40 Units
Core Units for Students with IELTS (or equivalent) score of ≥ 5.5
(*) These Core Units equate to 60 Units – Students need to choose additional Electives to make up another 60 Units

Learning Outcomes
Learning outcomes are subject specific and tailored as such. On request these outcomes will be detailed for each unit depending on which/all of these units you are availing of. Please email support@englishtalks.ie with your name, nationality and which unit/s or full programme you wish to partake in and this information will be provided.
Assessments
Assessments for all units will be offered in a minimum of four assessment cycles throughout the year. The units are assessed by either written examination or assignment. Results and Certificates: The grade descriptors Pass, Merit and Distinction are awarded by unit to successful candidates. A Pass is awarded for an overall unit mark of between 40 and 59. A Merit is awarded for an overall unit mark of between 60 and 69 and a Distinction is awarded for an overall unit mark of 70 and above. Candidates who obtain an overall unit mark of below 40 are classed as a fail in the unit and may re-sit. A final qualification mark will be awarded upon successful completion of all units. This is calculated by finding the average mark of all units that make up the qualification.
